(A "tolteca" is an artist of love,
an artist of the spirit,
someone who, at every moment,
at every second, creates the most beautiful art:
the art of dreaming.

Life is nothing more than a dream,
and if we are artists,
we shall create our life with love
and our dream will become
a masterful work of art.)

Prescription Dreams

The good thing about being ill… I feel light and dazey :)

My dreams have been extremely weird, in an intellectually stimulating kind of way LOL; and I’ve been sleeping like a baby for the first time in years. I don’t even feel that drugged up. But I’m almost sure I am… LOL ;)

Here’s one (dream, I mean):

The one with the photos:

I’m sick. And my girlfriend came to visit me today.

And that is why this dream was strange. :) And that is why she was a part of it. :)

So, here I am, in the dream, sick, in bed, and Mirella walks into my room. We talk; she asks me how I’m doing, if I need anything, etc.

After we’ve established that I’m doing quite alright, and I’m feeling better and all I need is a little rest, she tells me she’s off to run some errands; but she has brought me something to keep me from being bored, while she’s gone, while I’m bedridden.

She hands me a photo envelope, and she leaves. I open up the envelope and take out the pictures. It’s a huge bunch, of like a hundred; and they’re all different sizes. All squared, but ranging from the size of a hand to the size of a fingernail. And all mixed up, too.

What was very peculiar, were the pictures themselves. It was interesting because as I was looking at them, I could sense Mirella explaining to me what they were about.

The first few pictures were of her and 3 other girls; her best friends (supposedly). Now, these girls, I’ve never seen before in my life. But they were there LOL in the pictures with her :)

They were all wearing long yellow dresses (Euro-style from 1920’s, I believe), and they were frolicking on a beautiful beach. Now, this beach had some sort of fantastical essence… too many bright colors, too much shine… Like the one in Contact! :)

It was beautiful. In different pictures, they were standing in different rocks on the ocean (switching places per picture) and the waves were crashing among them. It looked very surreal. Very cool.

Then there were pictures of the beach cabin they had stayed in, during that supposed vacation they had when they took those pictures. And it was a very inviting cabin! :) Then there were pictures of them basking in the sun, on the sands of the beach; each wearing yellow matching bikinis :)

Also, there were pictures of other strange things… like rock formations, clouds, animals, and cabin drape designs…

And, lastly, there were close-ups of Mirella with her head up to the sky (eyes closed), face shining under the sun, and her hair flailing in the wind (very movielike, I know, but she looked beautiful).

LOL But the pictures wouldn’t end! LOL I knew I had gone through the entire bunch, but still I kept seeing new pictures! LOL Finally, I guess I got tired of the neverending photos lol ‘cause I woke up :)

Sleeplessness

It's 1 o'clock in the morning (Monday), and a friend of mine just called to tell me he was doing alright. Now, I'm the type that doesn't sleep much, but when I sleep, I sleep very well. However, I have the bad luck of always having something interrupt me! LOL Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that he called. I'm glad that he's doing fine and everything is cool. No more worries; everything turned out well. That's good.

But the fact remains... LOL I'm up.

So here's what I was dreaming about:

The one about underwear:

Sometimes (especially if it's a hot day), I walk around the house in my underwear. It's something I've done since I was little (my brother and I, both), and I guess the habit never dies. I tend to do it, only when I'm alone, nowadays; so as not to discomfort my parents (purely, manners). But still, yes, I walk around the house in my underwear sometimes. Anyway, when I wear shorts, they're short enough to look like boxers... so who really cares about the difference! But anyway! In my dream... I was walking around the house in my underwear.

Oddly, my parents were home, while I'm parading around in tightey-whiteys. (I did have a t-shirt on, tho). And my mother keeps telling me, "Ruben... put some pants on, 'cause Mirella's coming over." And I'm like, "Yeah right, mom. Since when does she come visit me unannounced!?"

"Heed my words, Ruben", my mom insists, "She's coming over. You better put some pants on."

I didn't believe her. So I helped my dad out in the kitchen (I think we were putting away groceries), and I remained in my underwear. Then my mother casually steps out of the house, through the kitchen door, and into the darkness of night. Mere moments later, she comes back into the light of the inside of the house... and behind her... a person's silhouette!

"Oh look, Ruben, your girlfriend's here", my dad said casually. And Mirella walked into the light of the kitchen.

I refused to be embarrassed LOL so I greeted her like nothing's out of the ordinary LOL but my mom was secretly having a laugh at it all :p

So I take my girlfriend by the hand, and lead her to my room; as I would, had I been wearing pants... And without any weird hesitation (or problem whatsoever) I opened my dresser, pulled out a pair of shorts, and put some pants on. Mirella has shown no reaction all along, and we sit like nothing's happened, on the bed, to watch a movie.

When the movie started... the dream ended. Because I was no longer in my underwear LOL So the dream had no point anymore LOL

Whenever I Want You All I Have To Do... Is Dreeeeeaaam*

Although I had a dream last night (I dreamt that I was directing Steven Spielberg in a movie), I have been mostly unable to retain any coherent memories of my dreams of late. They are fuzzy or hazy, and cut up in pieces... I'm losing lucidity (as it happens sometimes). But it's totally okay... :D ... because now some of my dreaming is becoming reality anyway :) :) :)

When I woke up this morning, I thought I was still dreaming... but I realized, "Nope! Not a dream!" :) And that was good. :)

Life is sweet. :)

Kim Got Me A Blow-Up Doll For My Birthday

True... It's The Hulk (and it's about... only 13 inches tall) but I still had to fill it up with air, so it fits the category ;)

Thanks, Kim!, for the kick-ass care-package/party-bag :) I just got it today, and I thought it was one of the coolest, most hilarious gifts I have ever gotten LOL The first thing I took out of it was the Holiday Inn shampoo mini-bottle LOL and I think it made the package smell good LOL Then I saw all the little random toys and I started to laugh... 'cause I thought, "What the heck am I gonna do with them???"... But then I realized, "Probably play with them..." ;) LOL :p

The pictures of your college campus are cool. I love the Springfield guide/booklet. I think I'll browse through it slowly one day, and pretend I'm over there :) Abe Lincoln looks weird in his picture! LOL The shirt is GREAT! I now have an UIS shirt, thanks! :) It's X-Large and I'm a very small guy, so I'll have to use it as a blanket when I sleep, but it's all good! :p :p :p ;)

And the video!!!!!! I haven't even finished watching it, but already I think it's profoundly funny! LOL I was laughing so loud... LOL It was a wonderful gift, and a wonderful gesture. Thank you very much Kimmeroonies :) Lotsa hugs and lotsa luv :)

So when's your birthday!?! ;) ;) ;)
